Hi Folks

Hi folks, Im Located in Vermont, and I have built 1 droid.... it was just a set of autonomous tracks that followed a wall or a line on the floor, but it was very much built from scavenged parts from the project pile lol. You guys will have to let me know if that counts
I have a soft-spot for anything electro-mechanical and spaces like this that bring a community together. That's why Im here, because 15 years ago I found a place just like this and it was really a big part of my life, and it turns out that same guy who started that is doing something very cool here too and I wanted to drop by and take a look around!
A little background: I am an Electromechanical Engineer by training, but I would describe myself more as building scientist than engineer. I have built things from circuit boards with embedded firmware, to houses and solar fields, to businesses and business systems automations. I tend to change careers every so often but they all end up coming around full circle to a common theme of building nice stuff while keeping budgets in the real world.
Currently I am 6 months into a career change again, this time with the Entrepreneurial Spirit at the forefront of my mind. Some how I have tripped my way in to developing phone apps with a special focus on blockchain tech. I am developing my own business, so it only seemed logical to go back to a place just like where I first found that spirit and the value of a community and the rewards of learning and sharing, which coincidentally has a lot to do with how my business operates.. my life's work.
Ok so now that all that mushy stuff is out of the way, time for the good stuff... In that varied career of mine I took special interest in CNC manufacturing and I'm a sucker for a nice piece of CAD software. I spent the last 8 years using Sketchup and in the past year I picked up a small co2 laser cutter and really enjoy using Lightburn with some help from Canva AI to assist with Graphic design. My Firmware/Embedded Software kungfu is seriously outdated, but I am teaching myself JavaScript and React Native for cell phone dev and Im seeing where things may have moved to in the past 10 years since I've been out of the game. I am excited to brainstorm with you guys a bit to see where things stand on that front as scavenger drone builders!
Im here to help lend a hand where I can, learn some new things, and try and have a little fun doing it! I am excited to get up to speed and learn about all the things and various tech happening here. Don't hesitate to hit me up, I know a little bit about a lot things and I'm always happy to share!
