MaxDrive Customizable DIY Foot Drives

Post by Rolojard »

Howdy,

Malcolm has offered up his DXF files for his Max Drives. These are similar to Scavenger drives and gives builders other options. There is an eccentric and non eccentric version. The eccentric version is if you want an adjustable height for the rear wheel. This might sound odd but if you have to switch sizes on your omnis, it becomes pretty awesome. There are instructions for belt or chain driven drives and a hole to use as an integrated ankle lock. The foot shells are not the same size as the scavenger shells since the drive plates have an integrated top channel and are slightly longer than the scavenger drives. In the Main link, there are foot shell alternatives ranging from styrene to 3d printed. I was able to use my old scavenger 3d printed foot shells by cutting groves at the skirt of the foot shell. I have used vagabonds and James foot shells that are 3d printed and both fit really good and snug. Currently the only supply issue is finding the Omnis that use the hex shaft, I believe AliExpress, Gobilda and/or rev robotics might have alternatives.
